Serves 2–4
Drain the chickpeas and rinse. Combine the
chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, salt, sesame
paste and water in a food processor, and blend
to a creamy purée. Add more lemon juice, garlic,
cumin or salt to taste. Drizzle with extra virgin
olive oil and chill.
Sprinkle bread slices liberally with oil and lay on
an oiled oven tray. Sprinkle with chopped garlic
and pepper and bake in the centre of a hot oven
until crisp and golden. Allow sticks to cool then
serve with hummus and a slice of fresh lemon. A
real garlic lovers treat!
